AI, robotics and possible human like Androids.

Being prevalent to this particular forum. Future robotics such as I have shown. Will become more common place in our explorations. One could step out onto the surface of Mars wearing a minimal amount survival equipment.

Is there a difference between a Robot and an Android ? A lot of people say there is, Hanson robotics says there is. A true Android is in a class of its own.
Very advanced over a robot.

Then there is Bio Mechanical. As seen in the Alien movies. There are five different classifications on this subject. Which also includes prosthetics to restore a missing limb or a malfunctioning organ on or in a human. Then technically that human becomes a cyborg.

Mayo Clinic.
Home healthcare robots (HHRs) are one of the emerging technologies that promise to make clinical information available at the right place and time, thereby reducing human-error and increasing safety and quality. ... However, HHRs have not been studied from the technology acceptance perspective to date

Hanson robotics .

Question: If you were dying, would you allow everything you are or were, to be transferred over into an Android duplicate?
Memory, everything, if there were the capibilty of doing that. I know it's all far flung SciFi, And what if your consciousness came with that ? PureCrystal as a brain is very interesting, and all the data it could hold. Once there is a corpse, it's all lost in the physical world.

Will you need frequent security updates? Can you be hacked/ransomed? If you crash and need reboot, will you remember everything? Can you connect directly to WiFi or Bluetooth? Then you could play KSP in first person.

Well, you wouldn't accually be you anymore. Only the memory's with no soul, no personality, in a bio-mechanical shell.
Simular to what was seen in the Alien movies. It's all just Sci-Fi, and probably impossible in real life. But who knows.
There are a lot of things we take for granted in today's world, that 200 years ago would have seemed impossible.

But what would define being truly human? Something that fears it's own death? Minus self preservation, animals have that also.
Except animals don't ponder life and death, where we do. That comes down to being self aware. And a whole myriad of emotions
and understanding, and logic , along with misunderstanding and fear.

Whatever you may or not transfer, how would you create the interface?

Cat :)
Ahh, that's a good question. First of all the Host would have to be willing. You wouldn't be able to do it, if it was someone who was brain dead. You first would have to gather all of that data for transfer. That would have to mean the ability to somehow access the deepest recesses of the human mind. It's all still Sci-Fi either way, and we are nowhere close to being able to do it.
