I noticed on my PBS station tonight the subject is the Dec 24 1968 orbit of the moon. Might be worth watching.<br /><br />Of course, check your local listings <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" /> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John. Typing through teary eyes...<br />Just finsished watching the show, it was very good <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /><br /><br />Those who remember that time might tear up a little like me, but I highly recommend that all you younger folks watch it, too.<br /><br />It gives one a sense of the adventure of the time, of just how far we were pushing the envelope in this first time orbiting the moon, but even more importantly, the first time we saw the earth from "out there".<br /><br />And of course the reading from Genesis on Christmas Eve was just a stroke of genius by the crew. <br /><br />Times were very turbulent in 1968, the Vietnam War, Anti War protests, race riots, the assasinations of MLK and RFK. Borman said the greatest message he received afterward was a 4 word telegram:<br /><br />"Thanks. You saved 1968"<br /><br />On a more personal note, my late Father in Law worked on all the Hasselblad cameras used in Apollo, so it's now time to chnage my wallpaper to "Earthrise"<br /><br />I'm sure the program will replay this week, give it a look.<br /><br />Meteor Wayne, child of the Space Age. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><font color="#000080"><em><font color="#000000">But the Krell forgot one thing John.
