Agreed.<br /><br />When I first looked at the ultra deep field image in full resolution, all those merry lights in the dark, trying to imagine the tiny slice of visible sky that contains all of them, I felt awed. Humbled, certainly. And yet lonely. It made me feel like all the parties in the universe are going on out there, and I’m not invited.<br /><br />I can't help but feel uplifted when I come close to appreciating the scale and the glory of our universe. But sad too. So much to see, and yet so much is denied us.
