*shakes head* All of these jobs require experience. Makes you wonder if it's worth busting your butt in college trying to be an engineer just to be told entry level college grads need not apply.
Feel the Hope-nosis

I am an unemployed aerospace engineer, and it infuriate me that none of these companies will give new engineers a chance.

Edit: I emailed Blue Origin and they said I didn't have enough experience. Gee didn't see that one coming.

Feel the Hope-nosis

Well, it all seems rather exciting...phew.

But being small they will likely utilize a benefits formula whereby the hired engineer is expected to postpone current earned income for the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of Something Exciting with Potential. The theory here being that once the company is succesful the rewards will come to the team members who get them there. They will likely quoth Microsoft as their guiding example. This is fairly typical of small, west coast technology start-ups.

Unfortuneately the argument typically falls into two categories of expectation, wherein the employee must decide whether:

1. They live for work, or

2. Work to live.

B.O. seems to have a need for employees to be the former, from what I see. So, if you're divorced or just like to keep out of the house on weekends and major holidays while earning less than market value then this sounds like the place to be. Of course, you get the added benefit of being able to brag about the work you do...unfortuneately you can only do that with your fellow employees because you are so cramped for time with work you no longer have a social life outside of midnight trips to the local QFC for groceries.

Nice shot of the bikes. I'm sure they support a health conscious lifestyle as long as it doesn't conflict with the employee's requirement to do 80+ hours of work 24/7/365.

Gee, I guess I won't be applyin there anytime soon...

Wally rules!
