A couple of weeks ago I found a web site that listed all the companies involved in CEV architecture studies, and gave links to the interim presentations, but I forgot to bookmark the site DOH.

Did anyone else find this site? If so can you post a link, thanks.
They were the other company’s equivalent of the t/Space briefing in Dec 04 and showed the thinking behind each concept. They were interesting reading especially regarding the utilization of EML1 or not.

I think there were presentations from Lockheed, Boeing, Andrews, t/Space, Orbital, Northrop, and more.
Excellent, thanks .

Wow Date:10.05.04 this has been out a while. It will be interesting to see how the concept change now that a lot of these companies are working together.
This Paper is quite interesting as well. It contains a one-page summary of the highlights of all the CEV proposals.

I understand.

*looks at shoes*
*rocks back and forward hands in pockets*

but it is nice to keep track of all the different proposals and possibilities, anyway isn't rampant speculation half the fun of this board

Seeing as we've got a nice collection of links going on this thread so far here is a NASA take on a possible Modular Systems for Exploration that predates these reports: from 03/17/2004

There is another architecture that comes from 1984 that seems useful to compare to the current proposals that unutilized space tugs called turtles, more can be found here.

Remind me again guys, why a second round of proposals? Were the first round essentially offered up without a RFP from NASA?

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Roger that.

Edited to ask you SG if you are able to say any more about your covert ops to Texas a while back? I've always thought it might have something to do with CEV. Are you able to yay or nay it yet?

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

Here's a question. Could you take the pressure cabin of the Space Shuttle, put an external skin on it, a nose cone + escape tower, and a heat sheild on the bottom and call it a CEV? I don't quite mean literally, what I mean is can't the components be reused with just a few upgrades? The rest is just sheet metal...
