The banner on the web page linked to in that last post has a picture of NASA's Lunar Prospector on it too! stating "China has launched its first Lunar orbiter"

Now they are "borrowing" CG space craft for art work!

"Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star, or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?"

Han Solo - 1977 - A long time ago in a galaxy far far away....

Click Here And jump over to my site.

i thought the entire "story" is clear enough.

what was released was the beautiful, wallpaper version of the image, not scientific data. Of course its retouched and made look as good as it can. Its a first for the country, and a huge status issue as well, i can understand they try to make it look the best.

Some bozos on the internet got all hoaxy and tried to claim that its a fake image, to which CNSA PR deparment responded with a spin overdrive, goofing up in the process .

Its not like this hasnt happened anywhere before.

All the people interested in actual data are patiently waiting for it to be made available, and crossing their fingers that this media bull&%$#@! frenzy doesnt backfire in a bad way.

It takes something exploding, going wrong, or for there to be a whiff of a conspiracy before the masses get to hear, or are bothered with any space mission i am afraid to say.

The sad thing is, would a mission to the moon such as this have got featured so prominently in the daily telegraph in the U.K if it was not for this conspiracy theory?

"Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! That is very nice!

Thanks for that.

I am really looking forward to more from Chang'e 1. What a prospect to have the whole moon presented in this way in 12 months!

"Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Strangely the "new" crater is not an image mosaicking mistake because it is not on the edge of any image.

I guess that order of layers is changed.
The "new creator" was illusion.
But I think it is natural that new creator is discoverd by China/Japan/India/US probes.
Because Luna doesn't have the atmosphere which prevents new creator.
