Is it better to use the collimation cap or a laser collimation device? I get two very different results with each.
The laser device has some play in the eyepiece holder so it seams the good old fashioned collimation cap is better.

I have a Orion Intelliscope XT 10.

Thank you, Paul

Well, IMO you're half right. Lasers have a tendency to wobble in the eyepiece holder, because of their length (unless you have a compression type fitting). I would reccomend the Orion Chesire-crosshair sight tube to align your secondary mirror. Then use the collimation cap to align your primary mirror. That's what I do, and I have the XT-8.
