Replying to:

If you can say that I incoherently babel than I can say your posts lack civil behavior and compassion... seeing as saying I am incoherrently babeling is a direct reflection of the "substance of my threads" and saying your posts are not civil and lack compassion is the same.
Posted by Astronoid

Whether they might lack compassion or not is a moot point. The fact is, here you are judged by the content (i.e. ideas clearly expressed) in your words. I could just as easily say your posts are meaningless as you could say mine lack compassion. Perhaps both are true. In any case, when you express cogent ideas, we can discuss them.

But the Krell forgot one thing John.
MW is correct -- here you are judged on content, not on anything to do with yourself. That's enormously liberating, in many ways, because it allows your views to be received without prejudice. (Well, sort of. Some folks have quite strong opinions already on certain topics, such as the moon landing and the Face on Mars thing. But even then, the prejudice relates to the ideas, not the person presenting them.)

I don't think anyone intends to belittle you when they say they don't understand what you're saying. They're just saying that, well, they don't understand you. It's not that it's uncivil. It's that they have a choice between telling you that they don't understand, and simply ignoring you altogether. I think it's better for them to seek clarification than for them to just write you off, don't you? ;-)

Incidentally, if you feel like discussing your schizophrenia, we have a forum called "Health and Human Biology" where mental health issues do get discussed. It's also a good place to look for emotional support on all sorts of health issues.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
