http://www.space.com/astronotes/astronotes.html

Perhaps I am being overly optimistic given the number of launch variables still in doubt, but I am a little disappointed ISS management didn't take a positive view and name a 3-person crew for Exp. 11.

If everything goes to schedule, and there seems no immediate reason to think it won't with the RTF schedule seeming to have slipped to a point where most seem comfortable it is doable, the Shuttle will be up there fairly soon after crew change-over. You might think that ISS could support a 3-person crew for that brief period before resupply from Shuttle, and I'm sure they could use the extra set of hands up there both pre and post the RTF mission.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!

IIRC, the program has taken the decision to assume for planning purposes that the Shuttle will not fly until after it has actually flown.

Cool, it will be the second ISS expedition mission for Krikalev. He will be the first person to occupy the ISS twice.

Well, since Phillips was on STS-100/6A and was on ISS for awhile, they both qualify technically!

You're thinking of this very similar thread: Kirkalev gets his 6th flight (ISS Exp. 11)

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
