Exploring Venus may require exotic tech like balloons and 'aerobots

Interesting that we can already do more than we are planning to do with Venus, but at still working on doing more than we can do with Mars.

I think the urge to find extraterrestrial life is the primary driver of the priorities. The idea of "colonization" is also driving some (e.g., Musk), too.

But, I think that understanding how Venus developed the atmosphere that it has now should be a high priority for humans, right now.

What's the urgency to understand the Venusian atmosphere's development? To avoid a similar hadian fate? To understand past or present habitability? I'm a fan of planetary exploration either way!
