A guy posted this on our site and have to say it blows the socks off the previous simulator posted on here.

Has all the techincal aspects of pre-launch - you've got to flick switches and basically it starts 1hr 30 mins before T-0.

You can also do on-orbit stuff, re-entry and landing.

It's bloody awesome and I've done NO work today cause of it.

http://www.shuttlesim.be/

A dedicated helpline number to SG wouldn't go amiss

First post here. Nice to meet you guys. Im afraid i posted the simulator link that has stopped productive studying and work world wide! lol My girlfriend calls it the "Obsession"! Glad i could share! Give the sim creator feedback on his site so that he can be encouraged to speed up finishing his "endeavor"

Bollocks, I overshot the landing by about a mile after failing to find my speedbrakes.

It's deceptive as you seem to be coming in way too fast and wanted to flare my nose up too early. Must have lost that mile of runway right there. Great view turning back into KSC.

Hey all

Glad to see you're enjoying the sim. And to answer Lycan359's question: no, it's not open source, but freeware
If any other questions arise, please ask

Greets,
Toine Mercier

I downloaded the game, but when I double click the icon to stat it, all I get is a little window that says "&%$#@!ty Resolution Selector"

I've clicked on all of the options it gives in that little window, but nothing ever happens.

STG, maybe you don't have a opengl compliant video card.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

I like how he keeps calling it a "sh|tty demo"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wanna see this site looking like the old SDC uplink?

Go here to see how: SDC Eye saver

Well, it's a sh|tty demo after all
I've you'd see the current version, you'd forget the sh|tty version instantly
It's not open source, because, well, Micke loves his source. Even I never saw it! But it's his code and I respect his choice

That was a very juvenile and off topic response.
Must you insult shuttles in every post you make?

Hmmm, lets see...
Satellite repair flights:
STS-41D: repaired Solar Max
STS-51A: recovered two comsats
STS-51I: eva to fix Leasat

Hubble Flights:
STS-31: Hubble deploy
STS-61: Service Mission 1
STS-82: Service Mission 2
STS-103: Service Mission 3A
STS-109: Service Mission 3B
and a multitude of ISS construction, comsat deploy, and science missions. Not too bad for a system that sucks

http://www-pao.ksc.nasa.gov/kscpao/shuttle/missions/missions.html

http://www-pao.ksc.nasa.gov/kscpao/shuttle/summaries/chrontoc.htm

car industry: a lot more spent and way more killed... and then I'm not talking about indirect deaths due to polution.
Oh well, "Great ideas often receive violent opposition from mediocre minds" (Einstein already knew you)

it also was the first orbital (partialy)RLV. It also nhad to deal with many compromises to get airforce funding and to meet congresses cost requirements. compare the shuttle to any other first generation spacecraft and its record is quite good.

I think comparing Space Shuttle to cars or planes is an invalid comparison. One must consider deaths per trip in which case the Shuttle has to have a much poorer safety record than cars even though there are many more car deaths. Likewise for planes.
