Gulf Stream could be veering toward irreversible collapse, a new analysis warns

Not surprising at all. The difference in densities allows for the circulation, including oxygenation of the deep sea. I imagine the same scenario is happening with all the global circulation systems. Once the circulations stop, the deep sea would turn anaerobic, which will be devastating to the global environment.

Without the Gulf Stream or with a much weaker one, humanity may face: Another Ice Age? Human starvation on a massive scale? Resource wars? Or just possibly another in-progress twist and turn of Evolution on Earth due to plate tectonics? Hopefully, humans can "make time" and economic adjustments to adopt without the starvation and wars, for reversal of climate change seems not possible from a global economy model and human population increase. I have neither answers nor insights; just fatigue from all of the climate change speculations.
