Like when you look at a screw in the mirror it looks different from looking at the actual screw, whereas a cylinder looks the same. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

In regards to the <b>expanding</b> rather than <b>condensing</b> Universe, how could there be "rotation" to begin with?<br /><br />Unless the singularity that parented the BB itself was spinning. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <em>"2012.. But the current 3D model of the Universe in terms of the spatial positions of all the catalogued galaxies does not imply any spin that resembles any galaxy or solar system.<br /><br />Galaxies and solar systems indeed have an obviously visible "spin". One would assume that's purely because there is a sufficiently massive object at the Center that explains and allows for such spin.<br /><br />Looking at the observable Universe, there is no evidence to support a similar phenomenon. Galaxies and solar systems do not appear to be "expanding". They appear to be stable systems where the effects of a central gravity "point" is at equilibrium.<br /><br />Using that as a frame of reference, in order to have a "rotating" Universe, there would have to be a central point that was more massive on order of magnitude than the observable mass of the Universe.<br /><br />And were that the case, it should stick out like a neon sign, I think.<br /><br />A hundred billion years hence, maybe we'll see "supergalaxies" rotating around a common center of gravity. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <em>"2012.. Yes, but there is a force greater than gravity at work in our Universe; the force that causes its expansion. We have no clue what that force is and how it works. It may cause the Universe to spin for all we know. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p> </p><p>***</p> </div>
