Help me find a '70 movie title - bad memory problem !!!!

hi... if someone can help me remember a film i saw as a really small kid back in late '70s (really cannot remember the year) i would be eternaly grateful <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /><br /><br />the only memorable moment i still have is that of a character, sort of the space lone ranger/cowboy that lives abord his space ship, having cowboy boots on control panel and (now, this is important) a waist-belt that features three matchbox size appliances, one suppling the whisky, another soda and the third one ice cubes....<br /><br />now i hope this is not some imaginary horror drama of my childhood <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /> but as i can remeber i saw this movie with my father and not we are both really kin of finding the title...<br /><br />thanks in advance for you help<br /><br />curiously yours<br /><br />bojan

Dark Star (1974)? The only one I could think of.<br /><br />There was a tv series about a space junk collector that sounds like this also.

Battle Beyond the Stars<br /><br />from 1980<br /><br />The character was a space trucker/cowboy from Earth and he was played by George Peppard of A-Team fame.

LOL I remember Battle Beyond the Stars. They ripped half the space-footage from some "stock" film sequences and cobbled together costumes from the prop department. <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <font size="1">I put on my robe and wizard hat...</font> </div>

I think they used the old "Voyage to the bottom of the Sea" submarine as one of the spaceships.
