Hello all,

I have been searching for one old film for a long time now. I have read hundreds of movie reviews and still nothing. Maybe someone here can help me. The film was surely made long before 1987 (when I saw him for the first and the last time). I was very young then and didn't watch the whole film but I remember some parts. It was about a man stranded on a lifesupporting but lone planet. I remember that after some time he started to build robots (possibly from the wreck of his ship). I know that he build a few. They were helping him build a house, work on a farm or so. I remember one part where he ran over one of the small cute robots with something and the robot "died". I remeber crying at that part. THere are only a few films that can make me cry so I would really love to know what was that film's name.

If you have any idea please let me know.

Thank you.

No, not 80's, earlier than that. The movie was 1972's Silent Running, starring Bruce Dern (Laura Dern's father).

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Wow thank you guys, that was fast. Well I have read the review for Silent Running, but I couldn't match it together. Only when I saw the poster for that movie I realized it is what I was looking for. Thank you very much.
