Hey, VagueShip,

Many thanks for your input, and I really wish your movie could be found. But it was your post that caused me to think about those killer crabs. Now to find it. But it will probably be like most other shows from "the old days", and I will end up saying what DID I see in this show anyway!!!

AFAIK, it is one of the only Quartermass movies that made it over here. I would like to see them all, see if they measure up to that one.

Vote Libertarian

Yes, I thought that the 5 Million mile movie was not all that bad, especially for being of that time. The Shrinking Man was of the teaching kind of movies about the dangers of the new atomic age, and all the stuff that could go wrong there.

But I don't remember any post office boxes there, unless he fell into the mailman's sack by accident. What a way to go, crushed by a special delivery letter!!!
(I really have gotten used to using that spell checker, I tell you, and could really use one here some times!)

Long live the answer of 42!!!

I do not think that I have seen it, but from the review on that site and the accolades here I might try and get a copy. When I finally return to civilisation next year (I'm returning to Australia after ten years in Myanmar), one of my plans is to build a collection of old classic SciFi films). Can't wait.

I wanted to watch a movie last night and I found that I had "Teenagers From Outer Space".

The aliens were going to different worlds to finding grazing areas for the Gorgons, their lobster looking animal that could stand on its tail. The aliens wanted the Gorgons on another planet so that the home world would be safe from the herds.

Yes, quite a few people were skeletonized with the raygun of Thor, the bad alien who was chasing the good alien, Derrick, who was against leaving the Gorgons on earth in the first place since the earth had intelligent life.

Inevitably Derrick killed the Gorgon by cutting power lines and connecting them to the broken disintegrator pistol that he took from Thor.

Derrick saves the Earth and I think he's a flamer.

I had it on DVD. I can't remember where I bought, though. And this morning I finished watching, "The First Men in the Moon". Wonder why they didn't count the lady with them?

Movie title or additional information sought:

Has anyone heard of 60's possibly 70's sci fi movie that involved a person (man) being placed in suspended animation in a room that looked much like a hospital surgey located deep within a mountain.

The room was sealed, centuries past and eventually the room inside the moutain was located and the man was Revived by the local people who had by now imited technical knowledge.

It was not long after revivial did the local people seek the revived persons knowledge to repair a power station that we see them all ride to on horse back through what has now become a forrest.

The initial request is refused on the basis of I'm not too sure though this was a major part of the movie and this is all I can recall.

Its not much and I'm sure that someone has seen this somewhere sometime, most likely (sadly) on 2am TV.

Appolgies if posted to the wrong forum. Any assistance re this matter is most appreciated.

Jim

Was this a comedy?

If it was, there was a movie by Woody Allen that he went in for a simple surgery, and woke up in the middle of a civil war of a kind. It was either called "Bananas", or some such title. It was funny, but some what smutty, if you look at things in that light. It was made either in the late 60's or very early 70's.

This is very similar to an episode of The Outer Limits. I'm sorry I don't recall the name of the episode. David Keith played a character who was revived and the technologically challenged folks who he stayed with had him repair a power station.

There was rather more to the plot than that, but you have described it quite well. Other than it was a show instead of a movie.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!

I sort of remembered this movie. So based on what you wrote and what I remembered I searched the IMDb database and I believe the movie your after is 1979's Genesis II .

Sad to say, I saw all three of the movies. I remember them well.

Still love the concept of the Subshuttle though.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

The Wisdom of "The Wizard of Speed and Time:"

*The Time Lords have two major exports: police boxes and camera shops.

*The sign for Hollywood used to be a neon one.

*Running over a herd (pack, flock, who knows?) of skunks is not advised.

*"Tron" was filmed inside a piece of woman's jewelry.

*Sleeping bags can be used in sound production and editing.

*Poltergeists are a constant problem for the IRS.

*Blondes run off of alternating current.

*If at first you don't succeed then become an arsonist.

*When running at Mach Five the worst thing to encounter is a banana peel.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

I should have known it wasn't like the book. That's a given.
