How many of TEGA's ovens are used up?

So there are 5 left. My guess is that what's left is he base minerals of the samples or slag, dry obviously due to the 1,000 C heat. <p>I hope my numbering of the ovens is correct here:</p><p><strong>#4 was the first opened:</strong>&nbsp; One shutter opened fully, the other partially.&nbsp; This oven was successfully used after much difficulty getting the clumpy soil through the screen. </p><p><strong>#5 was the second opened:</strong> Neither shutter opened much, leaving only a small opening.&nbsp; They have not yet tried to load sample into this oven.</p><p><strong>#0 was the third opened: </strong>Both shutters opened fully.&nbsp; This was the second oven to be used.&nbsp; Analysis from this oven is not yet complete.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>It's hard to know ahead of time how successful the shutter openings will be on the remaining 5 ovens.&nbsp; They expect the end ovens (#3 and #7) to open as well as #4 and #0 did, but expect some problems with the remaining interior ovens (#6, #1, and #2).&nbsp; They have said however that they think they can successfully load soil into #5 even though it is only slightly open.&nbsp; Hopefully they will be able to use all eight ovens.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp;<img src="http://sitelife.space.com/ver1.0/Content/images/store/3/14/4364a80c-268e-4e93-9e53-d9b15fe7bd49.Medium.jpg" alt="" /><br /><u>&nbsp;http://phoenix.lpl.arizona.edu/images.php?gID=16233&cID=181</u></p> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> </div>

The bottomm line is, the ovens at the ends, are expected to either fully or nearly fully open, where as those in the middle, perhaps only partially so. </font></strong></p><p><strong><font size="2">But then again, we dunno until the attempt is made to open them.
