I thought I'd share this from my childhood. Late sixties and onwards, I was very interested in the Apollo missions. In fact I was transfixed, staying up to watch the moon landing!
So as a boy, I was always looking up at the sky. In 1969, or possibly 1970, I was playing outside. A clear sky and still daylight I saw this:
Three large parachutes, they were large orange/white descending from high in the sky with the cargo underneath.
Very large, just like the ones from the Apollo program. I watched them descending for about ten seconds.
As I was only about six, I wasn't allowed to see where they landed as it would involve crossing a busy main road.
I guess - looking on Google maps -that the coordinates of where it landed would be around:
Latitude: 53.773394 | Longitude: -2.264958

I do not have a history of seeing UFOs or aliens. My eyesight was excellent at the time. I simply thought it was a normal thing to see. Something to do with the Apollo or USSR activity. I don't think it was a false memory as my mother confirmed I'd told her what I had 'seen' about ten years later.
I've only decided to share it after seeing a video (I've only seen photos before) by chance on YT of the same type of thing and that Yuri Gagarin descended back to earth, not in his spacecraft, but as a parachutist. The craft landed elsewhere.
Anyway, not a BS story. Just simply sharing an experience whilst I still can: rubbish health issues...
I'm in hospital atm. When I feel up to it, I will share it on local websites to see if anyone else 'saw' them. I will share any replies, good or bad
