Yes. Stargate is not the best show ever. I like it, though. Certainly not the worst show ever.

Babylon 5 was the best show ever.

Vote Libertarian

Have to agree with larper here. While Stargate SG-1 is definately watchable it doesn't hold a candle to Babylon 5.

Yes, it is not.

Actually, it is quite good at times, but too prone to human centric things. I like O'Neils jokes, and skeptical attitude, a lot.

Stargate is tired and gets old at times. I think it has gone on too long and they have run out of new ideas

Nah theres plenty more ideas, they just never show you the gould homeworlds, i imagine mass golden cities of pyramids and stuff, but you never see it.

depends on which stargate you're talking about. SG-1 or Atlantis?

I've never watched SG-1 and don't feel like i missed a lot, but i've seen all the episodes of Atlantis, and i sorta like it.

I still think SG-1's time has come and gone. They should rename the SCI-FI channel into the Stargate Channel

Babylon 5 is probably the best-written, most coherent sci-fi show ever created.

But I'm a die-hard Dr Who fan, so of course I'll still say Dr Who's the best show.

Stargate isn't bad. It can be a lot of fun, even, and is definintely one of the better sci-fi shows. But it is not the best.

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"

I've been watching the new Battlestar Galactica. Its on in Europe before the US- and I think it might be the best science fiction show ever. Seriously. I hope I don't raise anyones expectations to the point that they are disappointed, but I am very very impressed with it.

****Spoilers below*****

It has some ideas that make it interesting, such as:

The Cylons believe in God. With absolute certainty.

The Cylons have emotions, to the point that they can even betray other cylons.

The Cylons can be in the form of a human being, and there is no reliable, available way of discerning them, since even metalic cylons are meat inside, and these are not medical ships, they are warships and tourist ships.

A humanoid cylon might not be programmed to know that it is a cylon.

Damn. Spoilers alert always means, Quick, sneak a peek, to me.

Yeah i ahve seen the first two shows, and it is so good, i can only hope they have the sense to do a "Fawlty Towers" and quit after two seasons.

They should get to Earth, and we should scrag the entire cylon army, so we get a tool up breather, and go out after the rest of them.

Or REALLY good sci fi, that doesn't take the easy approach, they get to earth, and our divided, selfish leaders don't help, attack them ( probably because the various factions here, would destroy what they couldn't keep for themselves. i.e. the USA would launch nukes at the aliens, if it turned out they were communists, and were only going to give their high tech to China, or visa virca of course) and when Galactica is forced to flee, the cylons roar up and destroy the earth. And THEN what does Galactica do?. Continue to flee.

Stargate was good in the beginning, but it is boring as hell now.
