Jupiter and Saturn may leave marks on the sun's corpse

The outer layers of superdense stellar remnants known as white dwarfs may often possess the remains of giant planets, a new study suggests.

"White dwarfs are the Earth-size cores left behind after average-size stars have exhausted their fuel and shed their outer layers. Our sun will one day end up as a white dwarf, as will more than 90% of all stars in our Milky Way galaxy."

My observation - white dwarfs, neutron stars, black holes, show the universe is dying slowly since the *beginning*. Time's arrow runs down hill as Spitzer observations of star formation demonstrated plotted to redshift numbers. The graphs showed a distinct cosmic high noon and star formation dropping off and declining in the Big Bang model, 'Spitzer's Legacy', Sky & Telescope 139(1):18-25, 2020. The exoplanet list,The Extrasolar Planets Encyclopaedia, shows 4173 exoplanets confirmed presently. 182 are found at host stars <=1E+9 years old, the others much older host stars with the average age near 4.4E+9 years old, others are found orbiting much older stars. 468 show host stars >=5E+9 years old. The universe had a distinct beginning and is winding down, this report on Jupiter and Saturn supports the 2nd Law/entropy as the direction of time's arrow using white dwarfs and H-R star diagram aging of stars. Some claim today that the universe in astronomy is eternal with no beginning. Spitzer does not support this, plots of H-R star diagram aging stars does not support this. New galaxies are not forming, new globular clusters are not forming, and stars, most are evolving into white dwarfs, only to die heat death as they cool to 0 Kelvin degrees.
