Daniels was a liar. Everyone knows that timelines don't reset themselves. You know how those Future guys are.<br /><br />The world is a chaotic place. If a butterfly flaps his wings in Los Angeles, huricanes will occur differently a year later in the Atlantic. Any time travel would certainly create an entirely different future.

Any thoughts on if it would be EASY enough to go back in time and change the future events of things to come?<br /> I liked the orgininal shows where they went back to then present earth, and were concerned with the future ramifications of their actions. Case in point, the jet pilot who came aboard the ship, and found out his son would lead the Jupitor(sp) mission, then later forgot it when that action did not happen at the end of the show. <br /><br />Could this action with the Klingons then cause a new multiverse to develop from that action, or am I totally off in my concepts of this? Or could this be explained from one of those four lectures on quantum thoughts in another part of this web-site. I followed the flow of thoughts enough, until that third one, and seemed to part reality with the thoughts presented there. It seemed they were seeking (or even attempting to create), an answer to match their thoughts and unproven ideas, and not the other way around. <br /><br />My apologies if I am attempting to side-track this thread. ST is one of my favorite shows, but I have not been able to follow the current series much, especially when they took off on that zindi thread.

Remember the genetic engineering that gave TOS Khan? This freaked out the Klingons because modded humans kicked them at their own game. The Klingons then attempted a little genetic engineering of their own to counter the threat -- <i>by splicing in the modded human DNA</i>. This wasn't so smart and wound up causing a degenerative disease. They're saved by Phlox who creates a cure/vaccine but it has side effects: klingons lose their ridges. Gotta love retroactive history.<br /><br />From what I remember from the books from around the first movie and TNG time where they did try to explain the differences in the Klingons, it went something like this.<br /><br />It is a Kligon <b>Empire</b> with many worlds and several races. The ridge heads were "Imperial" Klingons and the TOS ones were a different race {don't remember if they ever named them}. Now it gets a little foggy - either the TOS Klingons actually took over for a while or the Imperial Klingons always ran the show but never showed themselves to outsiders or the was a natural/artificial disease that affected only the Imperial type. Then, the TOS Klingons were all but killed off because {a} The Imperials retook the Empire, {b} The Imperials were tired of all the TOS failure, or {c} disease.<br /><br />These were great theories and worked well up until the episode in DS9 where they revived 3 TOS klingons as ridge heads. Oh well, what can you expect from writers - they can be as bad as engineers sometimes.
