Hmmm. I'll have to have a look at all of this - and their site.

Anyone know who these guys are?

Something tells me there's some money behind them - but then you go to the site and it's in need of bringing out of the 1990s - as well as some paragraphs and grammar. But I need to look at this more.

Seem to be enthusiasts trying to do something positive, but they get bashed a lot.

I believe some people claiming to be from this organization were making all sorts of claims about taking legal action against some members here some months ago.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

Its been a while now, the exchanges might have been pre-crash.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

In the end they appeared to be just threats.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

In todays litigious society, who can tell?

At the time, I first took the threats quite seriously, but later it looked more like the "You disagreed with me in public, I am going to sue you unless SDC sensors you" stuff that goes on from time to time.

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

In todays litigious society, who can tell?

Well, libel is certainly a valid complaint. But if they were upset because you were merely disagreeing with their position then I wouldn't even worry about it..unless serious threats were made against them..

Some quick searches did not pull up the stuff, so it was either pre-crash, or got wiped...

Wayne

"1) Give no quarter; 2) Take no prisoners; 3) Sink everything." Admiral Jackie Fisher

Nah it was that argument between Mental Avenger and some ISA guy, the guy went nuts. The threads are wiped. They are always getting their posts deleted. Thats why he chose the name, Censorship.

It wasn't really an argument. When Rick posted his solicitation spam on 5 different message boards, I pointed out that one was enough and he should delete the others. I also noted that he had done this same spam posting on other space forums. He posted an adendum to the first spam on each of the message boards. When I pointed out that was a violation of the TOS he went ballistic and threatened lawsuits against me and Space.com. Of course there was no basis for such action, but that didn't stop him from posting a whole string of threats and false accusations. Personally, I thought it was quite humerous. Clearly, SDC thought it was frivolous.

Bottom line, Rick has been attempting to create an organization that will control all of the space related activity on Earth since about 1987. That "organization" consists of a few guys with big wishes and little else. Everywhere they post they antagonize the members. They need a serious reality check. The term meglomania comes to mind.

Our Solar System must be passing through a Non Sequitur area of space.
