A few monthes ago, I wrote a letter to my senators concerning Nasa and space. I had posted it on these forums, but it's been deleted because of the great wiping of memory. I'm ashamed to say that I emailed it to my senators instead of using snail mail, but even so Senator Mary Landrieu noticed it.

She wrote me back. I recieved the letter in the snail mail today. I understand that she most likely had an assistant write it, but I was honored just to have her notice my letter and think it worthy of a response and glad to know that I have been heard. It's a great feeling to know I have been heard.

Here is the letter if y'all are interested in reading it:

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Aaron:

Thank you for contacting me about your interest in space and the future of NASA. I appreciate your views and concerns on this important matter. A recent review of my files revealed that you have not recieved a response to your email. I apologize for the inordinate delay in getting back to you.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is an important part of our nation, our government and our lives, especially in Louisiana. Over the years, I have been a strong proponent of the space program for many reasons. Many vital jobs in our state are connected to NASA, but more importantly, our missions to space continue the American pioneering spirit that has been a vital part of our social fabric since the founding of this nation. With every successful discovery, we are compelled to strive for another goal.

Whenever legislation comes to the floor of the Senate regarding NASA, I will keep your comments in mind. Space exploration plays an incredibly important role in our lives and I will make sure that it is funded properly with adequate and attainable goals that can increase the knowledge of our entire society.

Again, thank you for contacting me about this important issue.

Arobie,

Keep up the good work! Tell your friends that are into space flight to write. Write to your representative, too.
The secret to peace of mind is a short attention span.

Halman,

Thank You, and I have and did.

I wrote to my representatives and senators, and I also asked a friend of mine to write.

BTW: My mom was very impressed that I recieved a letter for one of my senators. It was kinda funnny how my dad handed the letter with it's Senate seal on it to me nonchalantly, and how my mom was so excited about it.
