Mars and lunar colony/station

<p><font size="2">I read awhile back about a group of students having a contest</font> <font size="2">to design a colony on Mars. Have we done anything like that here? Maybe not so much a contest but a group of us working to plan out a mars colony and a lunar base. </font></p><p><font size="2">Just a thunk. <p>The idea is workable as far as ideas go. But would it be adapted for actual development, who knows? We have had such efforts in the past and I'm sure, or hope theres a University or two in the U.S. sponsoring similar efforts at present.&nbsp;</p> <div class="Discussion_UserSignature"> <p><strong>My borrowed quote for the time being:</strong></p><p><em>There are three kinds of people in life.
