Hey ES, are you going to fess up to the fact that you're Alexander Zeltsman over at BAUT? You're doing a nice job of dodging the question though, I'll give you that.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

So what does Potillo's have to do with fossils on Mars. OH. About as much as rocks on Mars do.
"2012.. Year of the Dragon!! Get on the Dragon Wagon!".

Yes he is. But those guys are more polite about it than we are.

I heard a great line about Bad Astronomy, made by a reporter from the Guardian UK a few years back:

"This Reporter was Intellectually savaged by a group of enraged Scientists at the Bad Astronomy Forum."

Btw, if you ever get into my area, try this place: The Stockyard (many of the well-known locals eat there, due to it's atmosphere and great steaks).

My street is listed on that map as well. But I ain't gonna say which!

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

Well, here's the proof. (Just in case some visitors from BAUT happen to be "browsing" the threads at SDC.) Enter "extrasense-alexander-zeltsman" in Google and hit "cache" under "The Trowbridge Forum" link.

Mysteriously, the original page has disappeared (it was there a few days ago), but the info survives in the cache. And I took a screen shot of it...just in case.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

i was banned from the Bad Astronomy forum, fyi

and it was over a stupid "free space" thread. apparently, the easy-going diverse progressives have zero tolerance over there for anything that is not far left-biased.

I can't speak about the decorum in that forum there, or what led to that. All I do know is just how far, and under what conditions, they will lose tolerance for pseudoscience. Extrasense has been, near as I can see, a sort of clown so far, and the debate is topical yet interesting - yet he's already perilously close to banning.

He posts no real science, his math is just cut-and-paste, he hasn't been able to defend his beliefs - because that's all he posts. "I believe."

Nice, but not science.

Differential Diagnosis: "I am both amused and annoyed that you think I should be less stubborn than you are."

i can dig whacko ideas if they are compelling enough and at least scientifically plausible, even if they are still unaccepted. if you can argue your point and not just resort to faith-based banter, i say let it stand.

but let's put it this way: Bad Astromomy is totalitarian in it's view of outside ideas --it is the equivalent of an online soviet occupied terrirtory in the thick of the cold war era. yet they defend far-left media bias. so go figure.

SDC is a haven for idea exchange compared to them.
