1. A Mars mission will use Orion-derrived CEV's...with "Orion" "nuk-u-ler" propulsion...designed & built by Iran!

2. Vulcan has decided to sent us an ambassador BEFORE Ephraim Cochrane invents Warp drive.

3. Who/whatever sent the saucer to Rosewell is demanding the return of the pieces, plus full military honors for the victims. If we fail to agree they will attack all our cattle, causing them to increase output of methane gas, thus increasing global warming.

4. The U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army will agree to resolve their fifty-nine year dispute over who has jurisdiction over what type of aircraft each flies.

5. Elvis will finally come out of hiding and pay US$20M for a ride to the ISS aboard the next Soyuz.

Live long and prosper!

Ad Luna! Ad Ares! Ad Astra!

> My guess is that someone private is going to announce that they are going orbital. This would explain the recent actions of Bigelow./i>

That does sound like a possibility: the first planned private orbital facility is announced.

I wonder who leaked about the asteroid going to hit?

Hey, that's old news... it was in "9 Chickweed Lane" a couple of weeks ago. We all have 71 hours to put our affairs in order.
Just tell the truth and let the chips fall...

""It might be the upcoming Federal Trade Commission vote to approve (or not) the folding of Lockheed's and Boeing's launch vehicle production into the United Launch Alliance consortium.""

"I don't think that's "good/cool news on a number of levels", it's not especially good from a launch price standpoint, and it's impossible to categorize as 'cool' by any strech of the imagination. "

Chris just said that it was "massive news", not "good/cool" etc. ULA approval might meet the "massive" definition.

But then again, nasaspaceflight has made a number of mistakes recently, prematurely reporting the demise of the "Stick", etc.

- Ed Kyle

I figured it out. The massive news is that NSFs advertizing revenue suddenly doubled this week.

"Chris also said "good/cool", read the posts damnit "

O.K. 'Didn't see his post here. I was looking back at his original posting on nasaspaceflight.com.

I did not wish to imply, in my original post, that nasaspaceflight.com was not a trustworthy news source. On the contrary, I find it to be one of the better sources of space news these days.

I think it is fair to note that there have been a couple of inaccurate reports on the site in recent months, but it is also fair to mention that no news organization is perfect all of the time

- Ed Kyle

That looks like a 'C' shaped piece of something that was photographed with too long of an exposure, resulting in streaking. You can see how the jellyfish shape in the photo is extruded from it.

Thanks for mentioning that it wasn't 1-2pm eastern. Much appreciated.

Since it's already been hinted that this isn't going to be the 'massive news' I'm going to bed. It's AM here. Very, Very AM.
