I have a 150mm dob (yay!) and what's the most useful max magifcation? Like without distortions or burryness. Focal length is 1200mm if that helps in any way
For reflectors, like yours, I believe it is 50x/inch. So since your scope is 6", the highest useful power would be 300x. You'll only be able to go that high if the weather conditions allow for it.

Right answer

50X per inch is under pristine conditions.

Only top quality refractors get better I've had my FS128 on the Moon at 1000X under pristine conditions. Thats how ya get up close and personal with a crater.
www.siriuslookers.org
