meridian slew

I have a Nexstar 8SE on an AVX mount using starsense auto align. When it slews to an object near the meridian, it stops. There is no Meridian command in the hand control for starsense. What can I do? Please advise.

That’s weird. I can’t answer for that model, but, my Meade SCT, once when I was observing M13, as it crossed the meridian almost at the zenith, the azimuth axis motor went into high gear as it did a 180 keeping up with the cluster.
Hopefully someone who is familiar with your model can help.
