I saw this morning on the news the sighting of a meteor in Washington State. They reported that a pilot saw it strike the ground. Anybody got any info on this?
Bob DeWoody

I would note that the reports say the Horizons airline pilot reported seeing something hit the ground 15 minutes AFTER the fireball.

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Yes, we've seen that many times, however is a bit better in full screen, though the view is too blown up for the native resolution.

I notice in this, and several other views the meteoroid appears to detonate above the surface of the ground.
One security camera view did appear to be a ground impact, but with all the others that show the terminal flare well above the surface, I suspect it was just that particular perspective.

Until the actual path can be triangulated (so the distance of all these views can be calculated) we can't judge individual ones.

Sure wish I had seen it, though!!

MW

But the Krell forgot one thing John. Yes, this happened a few miles to the west of Spokane the other morning. I was asleep for another half hour when it happened

The all the news channels were in a furor about it, though. Made for hilarious TV.

So has anyone ventured a guess as to how big this thing was?
Bob DeWoody
