TO RETURN TO WHERE NO MAN HAD GONE BEFORE

It was 35 years ago today….
Buzz and Neil taught the world how America could walk and play
On the moon……it soon went in and out of style
But the moon landings can still make us smile
So may I introduce to you today, the 12 men who made those moments stay
All those years ago…

There was Apollo 11, Apollo 12 and 14 who were able to walk on the moon
Soon behind came Apollo 15, 16, and 17 who were able to drive on the moon
With pictures and words…….their journeys should be etched in our minds
But their journeys may have come too soon.

In those 35 years we have lost our vision and direction…our leadership and goals
Now we give our astronauts secondary roles.
If we need a destination in space….we can fly again to the moon.
We can create a lunar module and return again soon

Because its been 35 years ago today
That Apollo 11 showed the world just how far America was willing to play
With 6 American flags and traces of our moon journeys left behind
We must continue President Kennedy’s challenge to the New Frontier
And return to the moon to stay…. giving the modern generation a new goal to find

Robots may be fine to start but its human exploration that will give us our start
Apollo showed us that dreams could become reality
Even after 35 years

What we make of today is now up to us….
-Americans in search of the New Frontier-

It can be here once again…. but only if we reach out together
And fly our spacecrafts back to the moon, on to Mars and into the great forever!

Daniel Wingsand Reed
July 20, 2004
histinfo@hq.nasa.gov

I agree with the simple logic to the 3 step approach

1) Get back to the 3 Shuttle launch schedule

2) Complete the ISS with assistance from the Russians, Japanese, Canada and the European Space Agency.

3) Have plans developed for a CEV and leave LEO for the moon(LUNA) and MARS.

Moonport has given us a blueprint of how these dreams became reality in the 60's. We should use it as such while we are completing the ISS. (See NASA website -KSC-Apollo- Moonport) to get more information)

The history of our space program is outlined in the Table of Contents to Moonport. If there are any doubts as to our moonlandings please log on to the KSC website and read more in detail.

Any future posts that I make will be to one of the moonport threads. Since we all seem to have a reason why a return to a moonport should not occur or did not occur......please read more details or visit a site where they can view one of the 3 Apollo Saturn 5 moon rockets that we foolishly did not launch in the early 70'S.

Apollo 18, 19, and 20.....they were ready to go with the help of the thousands if not millions of people involved to make our moonport a reality!

If we could make it happen in the 1960's while still developing the facilities, hardware, and budget....we can make it so today!

Daniel

Call her Luna by day or by night
The journey is still only a 3 day flight
When we talk of Mars as a place to go
We must travel 6 months in deep space.....
Such a lonely place to put on a show

Let's learn to live where a rescue team can reach
Then look forward to the Red Martian beach
A place where Pathfinder has given us a view
As did Viking in 1976, when the view was new

Let us not get set in our ways....as we become accustomed to bright and sunny days
With spaceflight comes danger and risk
But with a blueprint before us that risk is deminished....
When we return to the moonport that time forgot

Luna is her name.....a project and place that lies before us........She is the future of our human race!

WHEN WINGS CAN FLY

When wings can fly
We may all reach the sky
The wings that I speak of are in us all
yet the wings of love may still be quite small
But as we grow they may spread their influence to keep us in tune
They may even lead us off the Earth and back onto the moon

We are the Wings of the Earth and the Sands of the Moon
Yet it's a feeling inside that will bring Luna home soon

So when you look up in the sky each night with hope and dreams
Take hold of your wings and realize that all things may not be as they may seem

You see, Luna is our moon, a place for us to be
And with the help of the Wings and the Sands....
Someday maybe we all may see
The beauty inside us...
And we may all be able to plant the seeds and grow the trees.

Daniel Wingsand Reed
August 20, 2004
Look at it as a blueprint to devlope a sister project that will return us to the moon.........also to spell out the reasons why we went to the moon, how we went to the moon, and what we accomplished when we got to the moon. There will always be skeptics about if we ever went to the moon but Moonport is a tribute to the American Space Program and Project Apollo from beginning until it's untimely end.

If we continue where Apollo left off in space exploration of the moon........Will we discover waterice at the poles and what will we find on the "dark side" of the moon? It's only a 3 day ride to find out. Could there be extraterrestrials exploring our Luna as we sit and debate whether we have the technology and money to return.......We all know we have more wealth then we know what to do with as greed takes over our planet and we sit and wait.

Our ozone layer is depleting as our Shuttles explode and still we sit, watch and wonder......

Wake up corporate America! Our future lies above not below........Do we have any visionaries left that are still alive?

Can't you just give us the title, and have us go look for ourselves?

"Wake up corporate America! Our future lies above not below........Do we have any visionaries left that are still alive? "

Corporate America is not going to do anything unless there is a substantial profit involved. It's not enough to be just visionary..

Corporate America has little in the way of vision and new ideas.........They tend to jump on the bandwagon and bleed it dry. We have a dorment space industry just waiting to explode when the time is right. We were on that path during the decade of the sixties when we were living the challenges of the NEW FRONTIER. When Bobby Kennedy was murdered our dream seemed to die.

Why must we wait for a politician to give us direction. If life does exist in our galaxy, we now have the technology to seek it out. I still believe that their are visitors from other planets already on our moon and our Earth working with us and among us.....teaching us and leading us to once again reach for the stars.

We must first get past this Corporate Greed and inspire a new generation that is not corupted by the greed and the stagnation that comes with this monetary vision of wealth instead of vision backed by monetery wealth.

Daniel Wingsand Reed
August 26, 2004

Unfortunately, the youth of today have a small attention span and probably will not take the time to research most things in life........Rather then having them miss the point of my post, I've included a Table of Contents to at least peak interest in MOONPORT before they move on to another post....or hopefully log onto the NASA website to dispell any rumours that we never went to the moon at all.

Every forum has a post with one objective in mind....To return to the moon.....

Every post has it's visitors with one objective in mind......To return to the moon......

Every person who adds a hit has one objective in mind.....To return to the moon..........

Every person who takes a hit can leave with one objective in mind.........To return to the moon.....

Now can you see my reason for the same post to start each thread.....TO return to the moon.....

No two forums are alike in many ways but take on the same objective.......You will leave with a Moonport in your mind........

Be creative Crazy Eddie........Some people read while others write........Still others don't give a damn and create a negative post.....I always look at the positive and dream of what can be instead of complaining about why it can't........Let's make it happen together!

Reedyreed
August 27, 2004
