This is a fun sci fi of what ifs and how I’d go about doing it. Cheers to a happy new year!

If we heated the moons core to the point of active volcanoes. Would the added pressure of heat create enough gravity for a thin atmosphere.

This is related to my chemistry theory. Where gravity depends on the heat and size of the core.

If I were to try to heat the moons pole with a giant laser I would make gigantic laser parts that assemble in space into one completed mega laser. This laser will be capable of cutting to the core where its heat turns the solid core magma.

With the added heat of the moon I theorize gravity would increase. Due to my fascinating guess of heat creates more pressure. Weight creates heat. And that heat generates a stronger EMF that would in my theory push further away from the pressure of the earths center.

I theorize the two pressures of the EMFs push off each other because of the heated cores. The moon is theoretically so big its core is heated due to gravity crushing itself.
I theorize gravity is a force but not exactly right like .33 repeating. Imagine no cooled surface were there and it was just magma and magma. Now I can try to create the picture how the steam would push off each other. I know it’s more than steam it’s gravity heat pressure and EMFs. Just theorizing in 2025 for my first post.

I just googled the temperature of the moon is 260 degrees Fahrenheit. This is really cool news perhaps with constant moisture and gas emitted we could calculate how much the core needs to expand per hour. If the center is heated and constantly expanding. How hot would we have to turn an iron core to produce enough heat that will make matter expand for a long period of time creating active volcanoes.

I theorize it would be easier than we think to get 14.7 psi on the moon but would it be the right temperature. Due to gravity being less I theorize it will take that much more percent of moisture and gas to creat the wanted 14.7 psi atmosphere found on earth.

I am happy to go back to this theory.

I was reading a post on show your swag and introduce yourself. Hi im Andy a nerdy dreamer do yourselfer.

In a dream where I died and the after life is physical supreme alien beings. they showed me a video of a space ship with one man in it terraforming the earth with a giant laser at the top of the planet.

after the laser is generated for a short duration. there is plenty of steam being generated then the planet actually began to spin. This technology could be a dream come true. I have heard of ideas involving dropping large bombs.

I think my giant laser dream come true is much more practical than giant bombs.

with lasers the atmoshpere could be ready in a short year or decade versus nuclear radiation of bombs.

I really like this idea so if anyone wants to add scifi possibilities it would rock my world to magma.

im imagining eight giant lasers the size of semis all pointing to one hub in orbit that concentrates lasers into one beam towards the ground. the lasers are not connect besides maybe chains for cooling purposes.

Stage one
position hub with ion thrusters in location in orbit
position large semi lasers in place possibly chained in place while in orbit.

Stage two
fire laser for as long as it is required to generated x amount of magma and steam

Stage three
wait for atmosphere to develop.

Catastrophe

OK. As you say "fun, ifs", so I am not being critical - just commenting :)

You cannot apply PV=nRT to open systems. After you have blasted stuff from the interior, it does not create a stable atmosphere. Being hot, much will exceed the low escape velocity, and leave the Moon. Any pressure you create is not confined, so it just causes expansion, aiding escape of particles into space. Also, I guess it would be toxic, whilst it lasted.

Cat :)
