I'm a "newbie" at Mossbaurer spectroscopy. I have some "basic" question about whether or not the Rhessi satellite has any sort of ability to conduct this sort of spectral analysis at the gamma wavelengths? Can anyone recommend a good introductory paper or a link to a book on this topic?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mossbauer_effect

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mossbauer_spectroscopy
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mössbauer_effect
It seems to be a natural consequence of our points of view to assume that the whole of space is filled with electrons and flying electric ions of all kinds. - Kristian Birkeland
