DART mass upon impact is 500 kg and speed is 6,600 meters/second.
The kinetic energy is 1/2 * 500 * 6,600^2 or 1e10 joules. This is ten seconds of a one gigawatt output. Surely it will be visible through telescopes.

I certainly hope so. That would be fascinating in and of itself.
