NASA appoints climate advisor to prioritize Earth science in Biden administration

One can only hope that better data collection and modeling will provide a science based rationale for government proposals that will/may impact both the U.S. economy and our role in the exploration of space. This NASA appointment appears to be a movement in the logically correct direction. However, the "immediate" issues of global warming, human population growth, wealth inequality and resource distributions have the potential to politically "short circuit" the scientific progress necessary for the long term future of life on Earth as well as the ability/capability to move humanity into extraterrestrial settlements.
