Well, we are not allowed to make any political comments on this forum even though these articles are about...POLITICS. No wonder there are no comments here.
So, to put this as delicately and gingerly as possible: wish someone would cancel the SLS boondoggle and put those monies towards real science and modern technology. Wasting the middleclass taxpayers hard earned bread.

The need to notify congress is a matter of law (resulting from a Nunn-McCurdy breach), is not necessarily a "political" matter. Rather it is means to ensure the program has some likelihood of success before more (middleclass taxpayers hard earned bread) taxpayer dollars are thrown at the problem. Cancellation is certainly one of the potential outcomes of such a decision process.

They really should scrap it while they can, and take whatever is left of the existing budget and give it to SpaceX to help fund Starship, which is slated to be a far superior platfom in almost every way anyway compared to the SLS/Artemis "platform." Not to mention that SpaceX is much more efficient in terms of productivity and innovation on a broad scale.
