Navigation in Space

Hi all,<br /><br />well if anyone can help me shed some light on current techniques on navigation in space. I guess it is done by precise mathematical calculations that take into account planet orbits and movement but how would that work in the space outside oue solar system? Would it be in the same way? How much does our Sun move since it is not the center of universe <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /><br /><br />Any links on the topic would be appreciated <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" /><br /><br />dush

The "where are we" part of navigation is largely achieved using fixes on stars, I dare say that method will suffice until we start talking about going hundreds of light years away.
