I'll be watching those trees closely tomorrow. And they'd better not move too much!
(And they'd better launch early. Not much time to watch tomorrow)

So, what's the deal with the asymmetric, 5 SRB configuration of the Atlas 5?

Presumably the thrust vectoring can handle it, and maybe they just don't need (or would have trouble fitting) 6?

Just to summarise then:

High winds prevented the launch on Jan17. It was cleared to go almost at the end of the day's window, but was scrubbed just two minutes and 42 seconds before the booster's engines were scheduled to fire. There were earlier delays due to minor glitches at the ground tracking station in Antigua and NASA's deep space network. There is an SDC update here and a short update on the mission homepage here.

Tomorrow's Jan 18 launch window will open at 13:16 EST and extends through to 15:15 EST.

Days 0 Hours 15 Mins 21 Secs 28 - until launch!!!/safety_wrapper>

Hopefully they will get away early in the launch window tomorrow as work waits for no man unfortunately.

Who is this superhero? Henry, the mild-mannered janitor ... could be!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bring Back The Black!
