Yes I hope so too.

however, I do not think that Pluto will look any different, as yes, New Horizons has covered
a lot of distance since last September, but it is still only a
short disitance as compared to what is left.

What would be good, would be to make a movie of images, using the LORRI, to cover at least one Pluto rotation.

The phase angle will already be different to what is seen from Earth & the light curves, would be useful.

I doubt that Charon as yet would be visible, let alone Nix & Hydra!!

Below is looking towards Pluto from New Horizons!!!

Wednesday 16th May 2007 @ 5:00 PM GMT / 6:00 PM CET.

Note the teapot of Sagittarius on the left!!!

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. Thanks for the amazing update info Andrew.

I have been tinkering with New Horizons data. With the hope of making something that could be used on the SDC Community DVD project.

Using the real data in the cylindrical map created on approach to Jupiter by the space craft. I was able to make a model Jupiter that can be "filmed" in "virtual space" from any distance, and from any angle for the DVD feature on New Horizons Jupiter Encounter.

Here is a screen shot from an animation i just made.

"Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star, or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?"

Han Solo - 1977 - A long time ago in a galaxy far far away....

Click Here And jump over to my site.

Clumps following Adrastea
Three clumps in Jupiter's main rings following the tiny moon Adrastea (16 kilometers in diameter).
The clumps most likely formed as a result of the impact of a Jupiter-family comet onto a
large ring particle shortly before New Horizons arrived in the Jupiter system. Credit: NASA / JHUAPL / SwRI.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the first time that clumping has been found in the rings of Jupiter.

The tiny moon, Adrastea (the second moon from Jupiter), appears to be
shephering some ring particles, causing them to clump.

High resolution here: Adrastea & Rings.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. The largest moon in our Solar System, Ganymede reveals itself
infront of the slim crescent of Jupiter.

The frigid cryogenically cold ice / dusty night hemisphere of the planet sized Ganymede
is seen here.

New Horizons LORRI Camera.

Sunday 4th March 2007, from 5.9 million kilometres.

Full resolution image is linked below.

Crescent Ganymede in front of Crescent Jupiter.

Anthmartian, IMO this linked image should go on the Community DVD.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. Yes, a good shot. I prefer the dynamics of the full resolution image.

Yes.

I quite like the cropped shot, as it shows the looming bulk of planet sized Ganymede well.

But the full resolution shot, does have better dynamics for sure.

Andrew Brown.

"I suddenly noticed an anomaly to the left of Io, just off the rim of that world. No argument here, Jupiter is definitely looming!
Would have been cool in color too.
I have not looked, but it rings of a Triton shot.
