The great new image we all see on the news is nothing when compared with the high resolution ones. I got the 50 megabyte TIFF and it looks great. I only have dial-up at home so the 385 megabyte one is out of the question for now If I can't get it at the library I am going to risk getting another "User of the Month" e-mail from where I work! Get the really big pictures here.

http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/newsdesk/archive/releases/2006/01/image/a+warn

"He told a crowd a KSC yesterday that it would probably fly in late 2007."

That is tremendous news. An acquaintance of mine (friend of a friend) was scheduled to fly on the October 06 shuttle mission. His mission has now been pushed back, I wonder if he might be going to Hubble (he has been to Hubble before I believe).

I managed to open it! A friend downloaded it for me, I chickened out at work. He couldn't look at it at all, his computer crashed. It takes the Gimp 135 seconds to open it, most of that time it looks like the computer is crashed. Those bowshocks are everywhere. I like this spot; it looks like a new star is blasting a hole in the nebula. Great stuff! Way to go Hubble team.
