There is a new game coming in October that some scifi fans might like. It's called Nexus and it has battles that are darn near movie quality. What's really cool is tat you can pause the game and move about the solar system and see the planets in their beauty or even zoom and view comets. Very cool game.

What platform(s) do you play it on?

PC for now.

If you check my fan site or the official site there are links to the E3 trailer and a small gameplay trailer. I think the E3 is my favorite trailer though. There is also an old tech demo back when it was called IG3, then changed to Galaxy Andromeda.

I'm interested. I've never heard of it before, is this game like Freespace 2 or Freelancer?

Hmm I hope the story will be good, not just another Homeworld rip off.

No, not a homeworld rip I guarentee that.

It's a tactical game more than anything.

Yesterday the demo started arriving on some magazine demo disks. Gamestar is one that I know of. So far I can say 2 thumbs way up.

It looks good. I hope it is better than Earth and Beyond.

Diff style but oh yeah... mucho better! I had been playing the demo for about 2 hours and it felt like no time at all.

That's a cool looking game, Chip. Great artwork. I avoid computer games though. I think I played Doom for a year, a real-time year! Enough time wasted.

***

awesome graphics. how is this game different from Homeworld? (I played the Cataclysm sequel a while ago, and will start playing the original soon)

The only laws of matter are those which our minds must fabricate, and the only laws of mind are fabricated for it by matter.
--- James Clerk Maxwell

I know the feeling. Doom was my first IBM PC and it sucked alot of my life. Before that was the Amiga (Best computer ever) I picked up Doom 3 not to long ago hoping for the same type of game but have grown bored of it.
Nexus really is impressive. The art work is stunning.
