That launchpad is a good thing, it is paving Europe's way to manned spaceflight.<br />And would have Korolyov ever thought that we would be still using his rocket, more then 50 years later in South America? <img src="/images/icons/tongue.gif" /><br /><br />BTW, I read on www.russianspaceweb.com/r-7.html that on this day, 50 years ago, the first R-7 was launched and they have some cool new 3D images of the rocket.
