Very cool images of Mother-of-Pearl Sky seen recently over Norway:

http://www.aftenposten.no/spesial/bildeserier/article940373.ece

These clouds are a located very high in the atmosphere. The clouds can be brighter than the full moon and are clearly visible at night or when the sun is low. These types of clouds are sometimes called polar stratospheric clouds. These clouds form and disappear rapidly in extremely cold (but stable) air. The recipe is basically water condensing at high altitude while in the presence of some chemicals or pollutants.

--A3K

Are you sure that's not Emperor Ming's lightning shield?

Just kidding, what an eerily beautiful scene, nothing like that ever happens here, even the aurora doesn't look that good.

TPTB went to Dallas and all I got was Plucked !!

So many people, so few recipes !!

Let's clean up this stinkhole !!
