The morning star or north star situated in the islands of Atlantis City. It spoke of the former and the latter things. Truths revealed, conspiracies formed. Lives reformed, and some get used to it. As always, the Earth revolved through its axis.
The old name Ursa Minor was gone and now it was known as Polaris tracing the poles where it resided for good. So, it does us good., embarking us a new journey ahead. Bob Voyage!
Ursa Major is a CONSTELLATION that happens to be a chance alignment, from the perspective of the solar system, of the stars we have assigned to that asterism in space.
Polaris, the brightest star in the constellation Ura Minor, is a multiple star some 136.3 parsecs (Gaia DR2 estimate) from the solar system and consists of.
Polaris Aa - F7 Ib-II Cephied Variable: estimated to be 5.13 solar masses. (The nearest classic Cephied)
Polaris Ba - F3V suspected variable: 1.3 solar masses.
Each of these stars is also a double but details of Ab and Bb are hard to come by due to their close orbit and the brightness of the system overall.
Polaris has been the "Pole Star" for the last ~3000 years, before that it was a star called α Draconis or Thuban (ironically, another double consisting of α DraconisA spectral type A0IV + α DraconisB spectral type A1V) and in around 13,000 years the pole will shift and the Pole star will be α Lyrae
- Vega spectral type A0Va.
There is no connection between constellations, the Pole star or any other star except for how we assign a particular star to an asterism - that simple. There is nothing to stop humans changing the current constellation layouts and names to represent something else.
