What do you think will be the NASA goals in the 2030s-2050s? Do you think there will be manned missions to the Saturn or Jovian moons?<br /><br />And what about a successor to CEV, i wonder what propulsion technology will be available by then.<br /><br />What do you think we'll have acheived on the moon and mars? Outposts, settlements, business operations?<br /><br />Perhaps we will be readying our first interstellar probes.<br /><br />

By then we will be building upon the foundation that VSE built. We will be developing the moon, settling Mars, and working towards exploiting the asteroids.<br /><br />VSE won't be a program that we run and do and it has an ending. In the 2030s-2050s we will be continueing what we began: developing space around our home.

"<br />The attention will be made on New Generation Telescopes/VSE offers us a promise of future Planet Imager/which will be viewed as necessery after TPF and other new telescopes will discover Earthlike planets in other solar systems.<br />A small International Space Station/mainly European Russian and Japanese work/ will be kept with Nasa astronauts taking part of the program.<br />Similiar international lunar research base with small population will be kept with Japan and Nasa as main developers.<br />Some cooperation or competition with China in developing solar power satelites, with China in possesion of lablike space station.<br />A manned Mars mission will be planned with European involvment.<br />Private industry will probably have some sort of orbital hotel with regular albeit exlusive visits by rich people.<br />Plans will be made towards lunar landing.<br /><br />More advanced concepts ? Perhaps lens telescope in outer reaches of Solar System, advanced self organising robots as precusors to human presence on Mars.<br />Some initial trial attempts to harvest asteroid resources by automatic systems.
