I posted this few years ago and i asked about the space-shuttle columbia tragedy in space

Was a terror act against Israel ? As we see anyone can come to NASA and anyone can do what he wants to do !

and What do you think now ?

P.S. Shame on NASA !

Well, since this seems to deal with conspiracies and cover-ups, it's far better suited for the Phenomena Forum.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

And that's a conspiracy theory, and that's why the thread is here.
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yeild. - Tennyson

Is there any evidence that this was intentional sabotage?

I have always believed the NASA explanation and this is the first time I've heard of any possible conspiracy.

-----------------------------------------------------

Lady Nancy Astor: "Winston, if you were my husband, I'd poison your tea."
Churchill: "Nancy, if you were my wife, I'd drink it."

Website / forums

"As we see anyone can come to NASA and anyone can do what he wants to do ! "

No one "came" to NASA.

It was an electronics box and it was damaged before it was shipped to NASA. The damage was found during testing

I won't bother calling you a troll, thats been taken care of. Next time you may wonder why you were called a troll...your post looks as though you know in detail that someone just walked into NASA, just walked to the pad at the right time and put a bomb presumably, on Columbia.

How bout some details on how someone can do this and if this is so and you knew all these security lapses existed...why didn't you post it here before the Columbia accident?

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. I thought it was because of 'bubbles' in the solid fuel rockets.

-pyoko the duck

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

To use something like official wording as close as possible:

The Challenger disaster was the result of O-rings that failed to flex at a predetermined rate due to being subjected to extreme cold. This O-ring flex failure in turn caused hot gasses to escape from the right hand booster during the ignition transient.

The Columbia disaster resulted from a suitcase sized piece of ET insulating foam breaking off during launch and striking the port wing leading edge RCC panel, busting a hole in the panel itself which was not a problem until Columbia re-entered the earths atmosphere. The hole allowed the superheated atmospheric gasses to go into the hole, heat the wing up causing the Columbia breakup.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. Those who make it happen, those who watch it happen...and those who do not know what happened.

What shuttle was I thinking of, then? The one that didnt wait to re-enter the atmosphere to blow up.

-pyoko the duck

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

It may have been another launch failure, Titan perhaps, or Delta.

Jon

Whether we become a multi-planet species with unlimited horizons, or are forever confined to Earth will be decided in the twenty-first century amid the vast plains, rugged canyons and lofty mountains of Mars Arthur Clarke

As John mentioned, it must have been another launch failure. There were only two shuttle mission accidents which pretty much occured as described. Challenger was the result of a solid booster failure and it did occur before re-entry...it happened before Challenger even got into space.

May want to Google "Challenger disaster" there should be plenty of links.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life. He specifically mentioned a terror act against Israel; that would therefore seem to be Columbia which had an Israeli astronaut on board, IIRC.

And of course, parts came down over Palestine, Texas.

woooowoooooooooo

But the Krell forgot one thing John. I hear the KGB have an ample supply of beautiful blonde russian women they use to bribe their double-agents with. If you have any left-over, you know, extras, mind passing me a couple? Tks in advance.
I put on my robe and wizard hat...

Hey guys, you are all (who tried to defend NASA or just responded) old kids, childish, indeed !
Don't try to make a storm in a teacup with foolishness and You just covered up serious stuff

Why do you defend NASA just because you are NASA employees or What ?
NASA covered up everything and too many scandals with NASA
Don't fly and drink in same time and more ...!

We need new agency, I meant a private one !

astrofull:
Thermal damage ? yes but someone helps to this happens !

Me:
Yep...someone rode the ET (Yeehaa) during launch and pulled off a chunk of foam and sent it straight to the wing of Columbia. Did you see any part of the accident coverage? Did you see the vid in which the foam could clearly be seen striking the orbiter wing?

To be fair, I agree a terrorist could have done some kind of sabotage before launch but it's highly unlikely and certainly would not have been as simplistic as you are describing.

My borrowed quote for the time being:

There are three kinds of people in life.
