Question regarding Astrophotography.........

Hey! Been a long while since I stopped by here.... BUT...<br /><br />I just got a new 35mm camera (taking Photography in school this year) and want to start taking astro pictures.<br /><br />My main questions:<br /><br />1.) Can I couple my camera (a Canon EOS Rebel K2 (not digital)) to my 4.5 reflector : http://www.telescope.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=381&itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&keyword=4.5<br /><br />2.) If so, what will I need to purchase in order to couple the camera to the telescope? You need two items:<br /><br />1) A T-ring<br />http://www.ehobbies.com/csn93413.html<br />The T-ring attaches to your camera like a lens. Different cameras require different T-rings. The one I referenced is for Canon SLR cameras.<br /><br />2) A T-adapter<br />http://www.ehobbies.com/csn93625.html<br />The T-adapter screws onto the T-ring and slides into your focuser like an eyepiece.<br /><br />Note that your prime focus may be too close to the telescope tube to allow the camera's film to be placed at focus. This is the case with my 4.5" Celestron scope. I have to also put a Barlow in line to move the focus out farther. You can also buy T-adapters with Barlow lenses integrated right in. They are more expensive, of course, and probably aren't the best Barlows.<br /><br />Expect to spend about $30 for the two items above.<br /><br />Good luck!<br /><br />Scott
