Is this a 2024 headline? This is literally how we've been doing work on Mars since the 1990s. Gee... "remote control robots" being controlled by "operators on Earth"... what will they think of next?

The haven't had much chance or *funding* to develop a native solution before this.
The next successful European landing anywhere will be their first: No money, no tech.
(They did find the money for a GPS system nobody needed, though. Go figure.)
