I'm always amazed, that so many people seen or heard about Solaris & Stalker,
but very few know of any other Russian Science Fiction Movies.
So I would like to mention some, you can find them on my page (with english subtitles):
Planeta Berg (Planet of Storms) - cult fave
"Aelita - Queen of Mars" - somewhat known
The Hypoboloid of Engineer Garin - lazer creation
Professor Dowell's Testament - sequel
Zero City - satire
Kin-Dza-Dza - comedy
Amphibian Man - utopia
They called him Robert - a lot like "Making Mr. Right" with John Malkovich,
actually the other way around, Russian movie is 20 years older.
The Land of Sannikov - similar to Conan Doyle's Lost World
Wizards - fantasy sci-fi comedy

Haven't seen Stalker but the book it's based on Roadside Picnic by Boris and Arkady Strugatsky is brilliant, well worth reading.

I'll stay on the look out for some of those films.

I wish I could remember
But my selective memory
Won't let me - Mark Oliver Everett

So it's a Russian movie. (And the new version is an American movie. There's yet to be a Polish version of it.)

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly . . . timey wimey . . . stuff." -- The Tenth Doctor, "Blink"
