just as this science fiction category says "not just for trekkies anymore", i think science fiction is moving ahead in the world. while sci-fi can (and should) remain light-hearted and fun in some respects, it has become dramatic, well written, and actually cared for by "respectable" literary, film and tv critics (not that we care. ha ha)
so, what do you want to see on the web- on vidcast- etc.. because this is where the underground stuff will make the moves before mainstream catches them and big money cookie cuts them for the masses. i am part of an independent sci-fi vidcast series that will be coming out soon on www.venusrises.tv ( dont worry, i am not spamming the project i am in. i joined this site and forum to read and write in it as a peer, fan and friend) and we are hoping to do things a tad bit different.
i am a big fan of gritty sci-fi and think low budget stuff on the web can be almost as good... F that, JUST AS GOOD, as sci-fi channel stuff as the fans of sci-fi assist one another.
just look at all the talent on the web. unknown painters, cg modelers, web designers, musicians, audio/ video engineers, actors... its endless.

again, what do we want to see though? where does our scene lack? what can we do as a community to produce things that get and keep us in the running?

what do you want?

sorry for the rant. told you i am a peer and fan.
-joseph (nathan on venus rises)

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a382/R-GEN/venus rises/nathan_sig_joseph_negra.jpg
