scopes tough enough for travel

Hello. I posted earlier about a good deep-space $400 scope. Another question I have would be-- what would be a good scope for having to take on airplanes? Or is there such a scope? We go to Mexico, in the mountains, where it would be fantastic to have a telescope, but we travel by plane to get there... Would the 8" Dob travel well? ( apart from the size issue) Thanks in advance.<br />

If it's packed well enough, then there should be no issue, just make sure you collimate the 'scope when you get there. <br />If you are familiar [sp] with collimation, then this should not be a problem either.
